This is a 2 day workshop where no previous knowledge is assumed or required. If you wish you can just attend either the Lightroom or Photoshop day (depending on numbers) however to get the most out the workshop attending both days is strongly recommended. We will be using the latest versions of Lightroom (v5) and Photoshop Elements (v12). You will also receive on disk all the sample images to practice with. You will however need a laptop. This 2 day workshop combines the best use of Lightroom and Photoshop Elements to take your image editing to the next level! Rather than the usual boring “this slider does this and that button does that” type of course we will process a selection of actual RAW images from portraits to landscapes using the tools and adjustments needed for each image in Lightroom learning some great hints and tips along the way. We will be working in the Library and Develop modules and will cover all the tools Lightroom has to enhance your images.
Im often asked what’s the best application for editing Lightroom or Elements. Well the answer is they are different animals! Lightroom is designed to organise your images as well as maximising the quality and detail from your RAW files in a non destructive way. Whilst Lightroom can carry out some selective editing this is really where Photoshop comes into it’s own, using the power of layers we will carry out editing tasks to a professional level. You will learn how to use layers, layer masks and blending modes as well as selections to accomplish fantastic results on real world images such as portrait retouching and blending images together as well as adding reflections and a host of other techniques.
